2010 CRUSADER BASEBALL

Chris Wyrick

  Coach Chris Wyrick

Chris Wyrick begins his 11th year as head baseball coach of the Helias Crusaders.  During his tenure, the Crusaders have been to the Final Four three times capturing the 2000 and 2001 3A State Championships and a 4th place Class 4 finish in 2004.  Since taking over in 2000, he has coached twenty All-State players and one All-American player.  He has received honors such as the Missouri State 3A Baseball Coach of the Year in 2000 and 2001.  Also in 2001, he was honored by the Greater St. Louis Major League Baseball Scouts Association as their High School Coach of the Year as well as receiving the National Federation of Coaches Association Baseball Coach of the Year Award.  In the summer of 2005, he coached for USA Athletes International in Barcelona, Spain, vs. the Spanish Junior National Team.  Prior to coaching, he spent two years in both the St. Louis Cardinals and Detroit Tigers organizations.  Coach Wyrick played baseball for the University of Missouri where he was a three-time All Big Eight Shortstop selection and was honored as co-captain in 1993.  He is a 1989 graduate of Helias where he was part of Helias’ first three state baseball championships (’87-’89) and a 1995 graduate of the University of Missouri.  Chris and his wife Janie have three children, Emma, Erin, and Sam.

    The Baseball Crusaders handed Hickman a 15-2 loss on Friday improving their season record to 16-4. Deion Hughes picked up the win going 4 innings giving up two runs on four hits. The Crusaders posted 16 hits in the contest with Brad Wilson, Zach Rockers, Taylor Bax, and Jeremy Hart leading the way. Next action is scheduled for Tuesday at Waynesville...

  • crusaders top bruins run record to 14 3

    The Helias Crusader defeated the top ranked Rock Bridge Bruins last night by the score of 7-2. Ryan Haslag and Taylor Heislen teamed up to give the Bruins only two runs(unearned) on five hits. Zach Rockers led the offense with three hits, as Brad Wilson and Clint Distler added two hits a piece. Next action is at Pacific ,who is currently undefeated...
