The 2009 Helias Boys Soccer team is looking forward to a new season. Last year's 2nd place finish was very exciting and the boys this year hope to duplicate the season or make it one game better. Twelve seniors left from last season, but there is twelve more to take their place. The team will be led by senior captains Conor Dermody, Jared Bell, Michael Schulte, and Shane Convery. Also returning will be seniors Matt Skain, Jordan Wisch, Grant Sherwood, Ryan Neeley, George Dyer, Cody Schmitz, Skyler Stumbaugh and Michael Collins. Some of the juniors and sophomores will help the varsity team try to reach the final four again and bring more excitement to the this season. The schedule has not changed from last year, but the other schools have gotten better this season and will be even tougher this year. The team has a lot of growing to do this year and by the end of the season, if we stay away from injuries, we could be in the hunt for a state playoff run.
The JV team and the C team will be strong again and with all the games they will get it should make our teams for the future even better. There are many games out at the 179 Soccer Park this fall. We hope that you can make it out to root us on to victory.
