Information You Should Know

Summer School Classes ~ May 30-June 23
> Students should meet in the Commons/Cafeteria on the first day of classes where class lists will be posted.  Enter through the 'Crusader' entrance off of Myrtle Avenue.
> PE T-shirts will be sold in the Commons on the first day.  Cost is $10 each.
> Session 1 is from 7:45 -10:00 am and Session 2 is from 10:15 am - 12:30 pm.  Classes will meet Monday through Friday.
> Attendance will not be taken in the school office.  Email the instructor if your child will miss school for any reason.  Teacher emails may be found on the website.  No more than three absences will be allowed if credit is to be earned.  An absence must be approved by the instructor in order to be excused.
> Dress code:  Students must wear jeans or khaki's with a collared shirt tucked in and with a belt.  Shorts are not allowed.  They may wear jeans or dress shoes.  Sandals and flip flops are not allowed.  For PE, students must purchase a Helias Catholic PE t-shirt and wear navy shorts.

Japanese Students ~ In January, Helias families hosted two Japanese students for one month.  These young ladies had an exceptional experience with their host families.  Their principal would like to offer the same type of experience to three students in October.  Two families have agreed to host girls so we just need one more.  The students would be girls coming from a Notre Dame High School in Kyoto, Japan.  If you would be at all interested, please contact Sr. Jean.  She will give you the details and also put you in contact with the families who were hosts this year.  The principal would like the students to have Skype contact before they come.  Thanks for considering.

Window Envelopes for office use ~ These envelopes can be donated envelopes with a return address which we can put a Helias Catholic return label over.  The window opening needs to be on the left side.

One-sided paper ~ We are also in need of good one-sided paper that we can use in our copiers.  It would be very helpful if it is all turned the same direction so it can just be dropped into the paper tray.

Campus Ministry

Diocese of Jefferson City offers numerous summer camps. For information on individual camps check out the following link: http://www.diojeffcity.org/youth-events/ Camp forms can also be found outside Mrs. Quinn's Office.

Numerous parishes are gearing up for NCYC (National Catholic Youth Conference) which is Nov 16-19. Contact your individual parish to register for this conference. Clubs and Organization

Attention students who would like to get A+ hours this summer:  The public Library has a Reading Buddies program that runs during the months of June and July and would be a great way to get some tutoring hours for the A+ program. 

Counseling Department

Senior Girls:  If you are considering or planning to participate in sorority recruitment at the college you will be attending in the fall, please check with Mrs. Rogers in the office to pick up some important paperwork from the local sorority alumnae groups.  Information needs to be completed and mailed by June 1st.

A+ Program ~ Information regarding the A+ program at Helias is now on the website under the "Counseling and Scholarship Information" page.  Any interested students are required to fill out an application form, which is on the website, and return it to Mrs. Heislen.

Helias Foundation


Parents' Club

Helias Parents' Club is an organization comprised of parents of all Helias students. This organization is dedicated to supporting all programs at Helias Catholic High School by raising money which is gifted back to the Helias General Fund to help keep tuition costs affordable for every student.  Parents' Club raises funds through organizing and manning activities such as concession stand sales, formal dress resales and poinsettia sales.  Contact us at parentsclub@heliascatholic.com

Sr. Jean is looking for students wishing to earn service hours over the summer by shredding papers and repairing books.  Please email Sr. Jean if you are interested at jdietrich@heliascatholic.com.

Dead Period will be July 1-9, 2017.

Helias provides letters and numerals: If you need to order other patches, please contact Danny Baumgartner at Turkey Creek, 573-636-7833. Most sizes of Men and Ladies regular letter jackets are available at the SaderShop, but if you order your daughter's letter jacket from Turkey Creek, please be sure to tell them if you want a regular or sailor (large collar) jacket before you order.  

Joyce Becker will sew patches on letter jackets.  The cost is $8.00 per patch.  For the summer, you may contact her at 644-3408 to make arrangements to meet her to pick up and drop off at your location.
