Online courses are available through E2020, an online course provider. Semester courses are available in Science, Mathematics, Language Arts, Social Studies and electives. Students may complete these courses during the school day and/or at home. Courses are available for recovery credit and for enrichment. In some cases, students may take required courses through E2020 because of limitations in their schedules. Students may ordinarily earn a maximum of two credits through E2020. The cost is $100 for a semester course. Registration information is available from the Counseling office.


Helias primarily uses two resources for Online Summer Courses: Brigham Young University (BYU Independent Study) offers a variety of high school courses that can satisfy graduation requirements for: HEALTH, PERSONAL FINANCE/CONSUMER EDUCATION, STUDY SKILLS, P.E. , SOCIAL STUDIES along with a variety of other required and elective credits. Online course work receives Pass or Fail grade and does not factor into the GPA or class rank. You may go online to learn more about BYU options at: Cost for BYU course averages about $140 per ½ credit. Course is completed at home with the exception of the Final Exam which is mailed to Helias for proctoring. You are given 9 months to 1 year to complete course.

E2020 Online courses are set up through the Helias Counseling Office. Cost for E2020 course is $100 per ½ credit course. There are currently 50 courses online for Helias students to choose from which include: LANGUAGE ARTS, SOCIAL STUDIES (Geography, Civics,) HEALTH, PERSONAL FINANCE, SCIENCES, etc. Courses are completed at home with the exception of the Final Exam which must be taken at Helias. Grade is Pass or Fail and does not factor into the GPA or class rank. Each course averages 40-60 hours of instruction and is a combination of video lecture and seat work/homework. You may contact Mary Flowers or Dan Mathes to request a course be set up. There is no time limit for courses but certainly we recommend courses be completed over the summer or during the course of a semester.
